The Plant Biotechnology Laboratory

The Plant Biotechnology Laboratory at CIGRAS has the capability to perform in vitro culture of several plant species, both herbaceous and woody. Basic and applied research on morphogenesis and in vitro regeneration, oriented to plant breeding, is done.

The lab supports teaching activities, where students from undergraduate and graduate courses conduct laboratory practices and perform their graduation projects.

Other activities include isolation, culture and fusion of protoplasts, induction and expression of somatic embryogenesis and clonal propagation.
